Michael J. Reiser founded Reiser Law, P.C. in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1999. Before that he spent 11 years at Rankin, Sproat, et al., an AV-rated firm in Oakland, where he was a partner from 1994 to 1999. Over three decades he has tried multiple first-chair jury and bench trials and handled numerous binding arbitrations.
Practice
Michael's practice centers on claims under the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act, civil RICO, real estate fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, rescission and unfair business practices. He has litigated class actions and large mass actions over fractional interest, timeshare and condo-hotel ownership in California, New York, Florida and Colorado. The firm has also pursued RICO claims in federal court arising from tax shelter schemes involving the sale of life insurance.

Representative matters
- In September 2009, Michael filed Keefe v. Base Village Owners, LLC, a multi-party action under the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act, in Pitkin County, Colorado District Court. In March 2011, he and his team obtained summary judgment rescinding approximately $100 million in purchase contracts for 60 condominium owners and returning $15.2 million in deposits.
- He served as co-lead counsel in a federal unfair competition class action against real estate developers in which the court granted the plaintiffs summary judgment on liability. The case resolved in a $51.15 million settlement.
